Students at Cliff Park Ormiston Academy in Great Yarmouth have today received their GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next chapter of their education.

Staff and students joined together to celebrate the achievements at the end of what has been an unprecedented academic year for all schools and academies across the country, considering the impact of COVID-19 and the subsequent cancellation of formal GCSE examinations this summer.

Whilst BTEC grades are still to be awarded, amongst some of the individual successes this year were:

  • Melissa Duffield who achieved eight Grade 9s and one Grade 8 at GCSE
  • Arvee Seetul who achieved four Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and six Grade 7 GCSEs
  • Ethan Tungatt who achieved four Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and a Grade 7 in his GCSEs
  • Lauren Ryan who achieved one Grade 9 and five Grade 8 GCSEs

Tamsin Poulter, Principal at Cliff Park Ormiston Academy, said:

“We are extremely proud of the achievements of all our Year 11 students today. The class of 2020 has been a fantastic group of young people to work with and we are very sorry to see them go! They have been so positive and enthusiastic, dealing with the current challenges with such resilience. I know this will stand them in good stead. I could not be prouder of them and would like to take this opportunity to thank them, their families, and our amazing staff.

“I wish all our Year 11 students the very best for the future.”
