Cliff Park Ormiston Academy has opened its kitchens to help Kingsley Healthcare deliver meals to staff at Gorleston’s James Paget University Hospital during the coronavirus.

The school generously opened up its canteen to Kingsley Healthcare, which is meeting the cost of the lunches, and Gorleston restaurant owners Simon Wainwright and Chris Chryssafi, who have volunteered to cook the meals.

Some 200 freshly cooked meals a day are being provided, from traditional English dishes to Greek and Moroccan delicacies. Staff have really appreciated the hot food, and it’s helped to boost morale across the hospital.

JPUH Chief Operating Officer Joanne Segasby said:

“We’ve made sure that the meals have reached teams right across the hospital – and they have been gratefully received and enjoyed.”

Tamsin Poulter, Principal at Cliff Park said:

“Everyone at Cliff Park wants to help out during the pandemic in any way they can. It’s great to know that our school facilities are still being put to good use during the lockdown, and we’re particularly pleased to be helping deliver meals to the NHS heroes who are doing so much for us all right now.”
