New principal set to join Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy

Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy is excited to welcome Mr Simon Leach as their new principal from January 2023.

Mr Leach is joining the academy from Noel Baker Academy, where he worked as the vice principal for four years. During his time as vice principal, Mr Leach played a central role in maintaining a high standard of teaching and learning.

He comes to the role of principal with a wealth of leadership experience and has worked across the Midlands for four different school academy trusts in a variety of different roles including head of faculty, leader of learning, key stage co-ordinator, assistant headteacher and standards and progress leader. He is consistent in his view that we should all always strive to improve in order to best serve the communities in which we work.

In joining Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy, Mr Leach is looking forward to working closely with senior leadership, staff and the Trust to ensure every student is given the skills and knowledge to reach their full potential.

Simon Leach, incoming principal said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of principal at Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy. I passionately believe that all young people are entitled to a brilliant education and I can’t wait to get started. Being asked to lead the school is an immense privilege and one that I do not take for granted. I’m a Derbyshire lad and know that this community deserves a school that is the very best it can be, I’ll be working tirelessly, alongside all stakeholders, to ensure this shared vision is realised. I look forward to leading the academy on the next stage of its improvement journey whilst ensuring that every student continues to flourish and fulfil their full potential.”
