OAT celebrates success with fourth Annual Awards Ceremony

Students, teachers, principals and senior leadership from across Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) joined together to celebrate another year of success, at the Trust’s prestigious annual awards ceremony.

The awards, now in their fourth year, recognise and celebrate the achievements of exceptional students and teachers from across the Trust’s 36 primary and secondary academies.

The winners were joined by host, Michelle Ackerley, BBC presenter and broadcaster, who presented 17 awards to the deserved students and teachers at a glitzy award ceremony in London.

Awards ranged from the Chairman’s Social Action award and the Enrichment Champion prize, through to awards celebrating academic accomplishment, inspirational learners, young heroes and sporting champions, to name only a few.

Guests enjoyed a three course dinner and musical entertainment from musical theatre students at Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA), as well as a solo performance from Ellie Payne, Ormiston Park Academy.

The evenings proceedings were sponsored by OAT’s award partners, including Net Zero Buildings, Zurich Municipal, Onecom, Schools Broadband, Capita Managed IT Solutions, TES, PLMR, Ginger Energy, Barker Associates and EO consulting, as well as the Trust’s founding body, Ormiston Trust.

Chief Executive Officer of Ormiston Academies Trust, Nick Hudson, said:

"OAT’s Annual Awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success being achieved across the Trust, be it inspiring learners, sporting champions, or students achieving top grades. Our winners this year are shining examples of our ethos – that every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed.

"The evenings winners were a true inspiration to us all, and are a real credit to both their academies and the Trust more widely. A special thank you to all our award sponsors, who made the awards ceremony possible and congratulations once again to our award winners."
