When the students arrived at the ground, they were treated to a stadium tour, followed by an opportunity to have a group photo taken with an Ipswich Town football player. They even had the opportunity to meet the two club mascots, Bluey and Crazee.

After the group announced the two teams on the stadium microphone, they then proudly paraded around the pitch with Ipswich FC flags and formed a guard of honour to welcome the teams onto the pitch before kick off as they ran out of the tunnel.

The students then took a well-earned break to cheer on their team from the stands. Despite a strong effort, the game did not go Ipswich’s way, unfortunately losing out to Bristol City 3-1.

The visit was arranged in line with OAT’s Enrichment Charter, a policy which supports all OAT schools to put on out-of-classroom events, with the aim of raising aspirations, broadening horizons, and enriching the lives of students across the OAT network.

One Ormiston Endeavour student who participated in the trip said:

"I really enjoyed the whole thing; it was such a nice event for Ormiston Endeavour to arrange for us. It’s a shame about the match result!"

Christine Woods, Principal of Ormiston Endeavour Academy, said:

"This was such a wonderful event for our teachers to arrange for our students and I’m so pleased that they enjoyed it as much as they did.

"Enrichment is such an important thing we do at Ormiston Endeavour Academy, encouraging our students to get out there, try new things, and follow their dreams."
