Ormiston SWB Academy celebrates Year 13 student achievements

Students and staff at SWB6th are celebrating after receiving their A-level and Level 3 BTEC results, enabling them to secure places at their chosen universities, on coveted apprenticeships and selected jobs.

The sixth form students at Ormiston SWB Academy have achieved some excellent results which reflect the hard work and commitment shown throughout their studies.

Students across the academy performed well, with some of the individual standout achievements including:

  • Liam Mitchell who achieved Distinction * In applied science, Distinction * Distinction * in health and social care Diploma and A in Extended Project Qualification and will be going on to study mental health nursing at the University of Wolverhampton. 
  • George Fabian who achieved B in history, B in Law and A* in sociology with an A in Extended Project Qualification and will be going on to study history at the University of Wolverhampton.
  • Ramandeep Boparai who achieved A in geography, B in psychology, B in Sociology and A* in Extended Project Qualification and will be going on to study mental health at the University of Birmingham.
  • Orgito Markja who achieved A in business studies, B In biology, Distinction* in sport and A in extended project qualification and will be going on to study physiotherapy at the University of Wolverhampton.
  • Jamie-Lee Mansell who achieved Distinction * Distinction * in sport Diploma and B in sociology with a B in LIBF and will be going on to study sports science at the University of Birmingham.
  • Amy Keay who achieved Distinction * Distinction * in sport Diploma and a D in LIBF and has secured an apprenticeship with the Sea-Life Centre in Birmingham.

Rod Hughes, principal said: “The whole SWB community is incredibly proud of our students for their fantastic results, they have worked exceptionally hard over the past couple of years and are hugely deserving of their success.

“I also want to say thank you to our staff and the wider academy community for their unwavering support.”
