Ormiston Victory Academy student wins Gresham’s Scholarship

Ormiston Victory Academy are delighted to announce that one of their Year 11 students is the recipient of a prestigious scholarship to study at Gresham’s, a leading independent school.

Shahd Abdelrahman has been named as the OAT Scholar 2019-2021, securing a life-changing funded place to study at the prestigious school’s Sixth Form. Shahd was also recognised this year at the OAT Annual Awards, winning the respected Einstein Prize.

The OAT Independent School Scholarship annually to a student at one of their 31 secondary institutions country-wide. The scholarship has been developed from 25 years of collaborative work between leading independent school Gresham’s School and Ormiston Venture Academy.

The OAT Scholarship Programme is developing year-on-year opening up opportunities for students’ in the Trust to apply for and secure scholarships to continue their studies at independent school sixth forms. Currently, the programme offers seven placements open to students across the Trust at independent schools including Oundle School, the Peterborough School and Saint Felix School.

Gresham’s School was keen to stress that Shahd was successful in what had been the toughest year yet in deciding from an exceptionally strong field of candidates.
