Stoke High School welcomes new principal

Stoke High School – Ormiston Academy is set to welcome Miss Karen Baldwin as the new principal from January 2023.

Miss Baldwin is currently the vice principal at the academy, where she has been in post for four years. During that time, she has been instrumental in supporting the upward trajectory of the academy over the past few years and was integral to the academy achieving its Ofsted good judgement in March 2022. In her role, Miss Baldwin led on quality of education, managing a range of areas including curriculum, teaching and learning.

She comes to the role of principal with a wealth of senior leadership experience; prior to joining Stoke High School, she was assistant principal and then acting vice principal at Colne Community College. Before that, Miss Baldwin taught English at Tabor Academy in Braintree, Essex.

As Miss Baldwin takes on the new role, Mr Andrew Robinson departs to take on a new position as director of secondary standards with another multi-academy trust in the east, after being principal at Stoke High School for three and a half years.

Miss Baldwin is an integral member of our Stoke High School community, and we are confident she has the expert skills and drive needed to continue building on the strong foundations already in place at the academy.”

Karen Baldwin, incoming principal said, “I am delighted to be taking on the role of principal at the Stoke High School. During my time as vice principal, I have had the honour or working closely with students, staff, families and the wider community, and I know what an exceptional school we are. I look forward to leading the academy on the next stage of its improvement journey whilst ensuring that every student continues to flourish and fulfil their full potential.”
