Tenbury High celebrates student achievements

Students at Tenbury High Ormiston Academy are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results as they get ready to take their next steps in their education journey.

Staff and students have come together to mark the achievements of all the students who have worked exceptionally hard over the past couple of years to secure these grades.

The academy is exceptionally proud of all its students collecting results today, but special mention is to be given to the senior student leaders who have contributed so much to academy life over the last year as well as achieving some outstanding results this summer. Some particular individual highlights include:

  • Freddie Horsfall (deputy head prefect) who has successfully achieved 9 GCSEs including Grade 9s in biology, chemistry, computer science, geography, maths, physics, further maths and a Distinction Star in BTec performing arts. Freddie is going on to study A-levels in computer science, physics, maths and further maths
  • Hollie Weaver (chair for the OAT National Student Council for the year 21/22) who has successfully achieved 9 GCSEs including 9s in biology, chemistry, design technology, physics and a Distinction* in BTec performing arts.  Hollie is going to Shrewsbury College to study in performing arts
  • Emma Lawley (head prefect) who has achieved 9 GCSEs with Grade 8s in history, physics, biology, business studies and English Language and French. Emma is going to Hereford Sixth Form to study A-levels
  • Henry Griffiths (head prefect) who secured 8 GCSEs including a Distinction and Distinction Star in catering and BTec sport respectively. Henry is going to Worcester Sixth Form to study Level 3 sports science
  • Lily Parkes (deputy head prefect) who has successfully secured 10 GCSEs including Grade 8s in history and geography. Lily is going to Hereford Sixth Form College to study A-levels

Vicki Dean, principal said: “Congratulations to all our pupils collecting results today. The class of 2022 have made it through two incredibly challenging years whilst preparing for GCSEs. The resilience, hard work and dedication shown has been remarkable.  You should all be very proud of everything you have achieved during your time with us at Tenbury. We are very proud of you. I wish all the very best to our class of 2022 as they progress to the next stage of their education.”
