Sixth form students at Ormiston Academies celebrated great achievements on A Level results day. This year 76% of those who collected their marks on Thursday notched up three or more A Levels, an increase of 52.4% on last year’s figures.
The number of students gaining two or more A Levels rose by 33.96% and one or more by 23.27%, meaning that 99.3% of Ormiston sixth formers gained at least one A Level or equivalent.
Peter Murray, chairman of Ormiston Academies Trust adds: “It is fantastic to see our sixth form students doing so well. The increase in results is great news; I offer my congratulations to them and wish them all the best in the future. Well done also to the academy staff who have supported students in their achievements.”
The highest achieving student at Shelfield Community Academy in Walsall was Aaron Bird, with one A*, three As and a B. He will be going to the University of Birmingham to read psychology.
Jasmine Donovan from Ormiston Victory Academy in Norwich is taking a gap year to gain veterinary experience before applying to veterinary school next year. She earned A*s in biology and for her extended project qualification, an A in chemistry and a B in physics.
Bushra Abu-Helil from Ormiston Rivers Academy in Burnham-on-Crouch achieved 4 “A” Levels in biology, English literature, media and PE and has been offered a place at Anglia Ruskin University to study zoology.
Year 11 student Alice Neale at Ormiston Forge Academy in Sandwell took early A Levels, gaining A* in A2 chemistry and a grade A in AS biology.
Kishan Patel from George Salter Academy in Sandwell is going to study Chemistry with Industrial Experience at the University of Birmingham after gaining As in chemistry, biology and mathematics plus a distinction in forensics.
