The two 16 year old students Brogan Lawes and Brad Lacey created the ‘light painting’ in the shape of a Christmas tree using torches and a camera on long exposure. The pair spent several hours practicing to get the picture right.
Ormiston Academies Trust, which sponsors 20 academies across the UK, chose the to be featured on the Ormiston Academies Trust card for 2012.
A spokesperson from Ormiston Academies Trust said they were impressed by the innovative design: “We were delighted with the entries received this year, but Brad and Brogan’s entry stood out as it was such a different design. Using a light painting was a brilliant idea and one that got us all thinking, so we are very pleased to feature this on our card this year.”
For Brogan, who is studying an AS Level in photography, being a photographer would be her ‘dream job’.
As well as having the design being featured on this year's card, the Trust is making a donation on behalf of Brad and Brogan to their chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, which improves the lives of people affected by cancer.
