OAT Scheme of Delegation

Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is a charitable company limited by guarantee. It has entered into a Master Funding Agreements dated 2009 and 2013 and various Supplemental Funding Agreements covering the funding of the academies within the Trust (together the “Funding Agreements”).

The trustees are the charity trustees (within the terms of section 177(1) of the Charities Act 2011) and responsible for the general control and management of the administration of the Trust in accordance with the provisions set out in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.

The trustees establish a Local Governing Body (LGB) in each academy and delegate responsibilities to them, however the Local Governing Bodies are not legally responsible or accountable for statutory functions.

From 9 May 2017, Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy (OSCA) and Wodensborough Ormiston Academy (WOA) will be trialling a new Shared Governance Model which will be evaluated throughout for effectiveness and high quality decision making, to improve the education of our students. In line with the trial, there is a new Scheme of Delegation which can be found here.
