Ormiston Victory Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring, innovative and dedicated Teacher of Design Technology to teach KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Ormiston Victory was graded 'outstanding' in its 2013 inspection by Ofsted and we are committed to making this success sustainable for future generations.

The Design Technology department is part of the Creative Studies Faculty which has achieved above national average results in all subject areas. We have “state of the art” facilities in our new building and require a new member of the team to help develop Design and Technology as an outstanding subject area for the future.

The post offers a fulfilling opportunity to work with our innovative Creative Studies team and the young people in our successful Academy community.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who:

• Has a rigorous and inventive approach to the delivery of Design Technology across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Is infectiously enthusiastic about this specialist subject and has the ability to inspire the creativity of our students to enjoy this subject both within and beyond the classroom.
• Works in partnership with other vocational subject teachers to allow students to achieve real hands on work experience.
• Has strong classroom management skills and a commitment to the best possible outcomes for all students.
• Enjoys working as part of a team and demonstrates reflective practice through the high expectations they have of themselves and the students.

The academy incorporates the successful and growing Lord Nelson Sixth Form College. We are delighted to be part of the Ignite Teaching School Alliance and we have strong links with the University of East Anglia. We are proud to be sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust and the successful candidate would benefit from the opportunities which arise as a result of this.

If you are interested in being at the leading edge of education, believe that all young people can achieve high standards; we want to hear from you.

This position would be suitable for either a newly qualified teacher or an experienced teacher. We offer an excellent induction package for all new staff, led by a member of the senior leadership team and supported by personal mentors. We would welcome and encourage candidates to visit the Academy by appointment. There is also the possibility of a significant Academy wide responsibility, which will be discussed with suitable candidates.

Ormiston Victory Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Ormiston Victory Academy is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We value diversity and welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.
