The students and staff at Wodensborough Ormiston Academy are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next chapter of their education.

Staff and students joined together to celebrate the many achievements at the end of what has been an unprecedented end to the academic year for all schools across the country, in light of COVID-19 and the cancellation of exams this summer.

  • Emily Workman who achieved 1 grade 9, 3 grade 8s, 4 grades 7 amongst other grades.
  • Isobel Gould who achieved 1 grade 9, 4 grade 8s, 2 grade 7s, 1 grade 6 amongst other grades.
  • 5 others students, Randip Kaur, Sara Mahmood, Adam Payne, Jasleen Khang and Millie Ziedina achieved a grade 9.

Staff and governors at the academy have been preparing to celebrate with students and parents in style as they arrive to receive their well-deserved results and also celebrated the community work the academy has undertaken as a response to Covid-19 including the weekly delivery of food hampers to our families and community.

Leigh Moore, Principal, said:

“We are so proud of all that our students and staff have achieved in such strange and uncertain times. Our students have shown great resilience, commitment and focus to achieve their very best against the odds, working right up to the very end. WOA and it’s community continue to go from strength to strength and we cannot wait for term to restart in September and to welcome back all of our students.”
