Students at City of Norwich School have today received their GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next chapter of their education.

Staff and students joined together to celebrate the many achievements at the end of what has been an unprecedented end to the academic year for all schools across the country.

Amongst some of the individual successes this year were:

  • Josh Richmond and Christopher Brooke who both achieved straight 9s (Josh with ten 9s and one A* and Christopher with nine 9s).
  • Ben Searcy with nine 9s, one 8 and one A*.
  • Sam Johns with five 9s, four 8s and one A.
  • Juno Bain with five 9s, three 8s, one 7, and one B.
  • Hannah Wilson-Kemsley with six 9s, two 8s, one 7 and one B.

Students have worked extremely hard with their home learning over the last few months and staff are extremely proud of them and their resilience during such an uncertain time.

Jo Philpott, Headteacher at City of Norwich School said:

“The CNS community is immensely proud of the Class of 2020. As a year group they have worked tremendously hard and are a credit to themselves, their teachers and their families. Year 11 have rightly been rewarded with results worthy of their work ethic and determination to succeed. We are all celebrating their success and are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead of them after such a challenging year. Well done to the Class of 2020 and all of the CNS staff who have taught and supported them throughout their time at CNS!”
