Students and staff at Flegg High Ormiston Academy are celebrating today after collecting their GCSE results – with significant improvements achieved across the board.

Overall, 72% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in English and maths – an impressive 23 percentage point increase on last year’s figure. Almost half of students (48%) achieved the higher Grade 5 and above in both core subjects.

The results demonstrate a significant improvement on last year’s figures and mark Flegg’s first year as a new Ormiston academy.

In total, students at Flegg achieved over 30 top Grade 9s and 50 Grade 8s. Amongst the many individual successes of the day include (all pictured):

  • Rose Turner 5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s
  • Franklin Woods – 4 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and 3 grade 7s
  • Esme Siddall – 5 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and 1 grade 7
  • Jake Bowler 4 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and 2 grade 7s
