Ormiston Bushfield Academy celebrates student achievements

Students at Ormiston Bushfield Academy have today received their GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next chapter of their education.

Staff and students joined together to celebrate the many achievements at the end of what has been an unprecedented end to the academic year for all schools across the country, in light of Covid-19 and the cancellation of exams this summer.

Amongst some of the individual successes this year were:

  • Phoebe Betts who achieved 6 grade 9s and 4 grade 8s.
  • John Perkins who achieved 5 grade 9s and a grade 7.
  • Ricardo Masson who secured 4 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and a grade 7.
  • Dawid Stepien who attained 4 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s.
  • Osman Temirkhanov who achieved 3 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s.
  • Fletcher Kirwan who achieved 3 grade 9s, a grade 8 and 4 grade 7s.
  • Ellie Corrigan who achieved 2 grade 9s and 5 grade 7s.
  • Grace Mahoney who achieved 2 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s
  • Harley Taylor who achieved 6 grade 8s, a grade 7, amongst other grades.
  • Joe Cole who achieved 2 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s.

Dennis Kirwan, Principal at Ormiston Bushfield Academy, said:

“Our students and staff have responded brilliantly during such an unusual and uncertain time. Today’s results are a testament to their hard work, resilience and dedication, and our students have fully deserved their grades. We are delighted that many of our students have decided to continue their education with us in the sixth form and look forward to seeing their progress over the next two years.”
