Ormiston Bushfield Academy students set for top universities, following A-level results

Ormiston Bushfield Academy sixth form students, Kacper and Alex

Ormiston Bushfield Academy saw success across a range of subjects and students have secured places at some of the world’s top universities.

Amongst some of the individual achievements on the day included:

  • Kacper achieved an impressive A* A* A and will be reading Engineering at the University of Bristol.
  • Blanka received AAB and is the first of the academy’s students to successfully secure a place at the prestigious Northwestern University in Chicago, one of the country’s leading private research and teaching universities. 

Some of the academy’s top successes included:

  • Fabiano who achieved an impressive A*, A, A, A and will be reading International Development at the University of Leeds.
  • Emily received A*, A, B and Alex achieved A* Di* B and both will pursue their love of film and moving image production at Norwich University of the Arts.  

Dennis Kirwan, Principal of Ormiston Bushfield Academy, said: 

“I am extremely proud of the hard work of all our students and staff during these unprecedented times. The rising number of students attending top universities illustrates the high aspirations we have for all our young people and is a testament to the high-quality teaching and learning they receive at the Academy.”

Haseena Manji, Head of Sixth Form at the Academy, said: 

“I am incredibly proud of the maturity shown by our students in preparing for their next steps whilst navigating their way through the uncertainty of these extraordinary times. They have worked exceptionally hard to secure their post 18 pathways; on behalf of everyone at Ormiston Bushfield Academy, I would like to wish our students the very best of luck with their future careers and new challenges.”

During the lockdown, teachers at the academy did their bit to support the national and local efforts to combat the coronavirus crisis, by producing hundreds of protective visors for medical staff across the region to help keep them safe whilst on the frontline.
