Students and staff at Ormiston NEW Academy are celebrating today after receiving their A-level results.
This year’s results demonstrate clear improvements in attainment across the school. The number of exam entries achieving the higher-grade boundaries – A and B – has improved by 12% and the number of students gaining A-C grades has increased by 26%.
The A-level average point score per entry last year was 12 compared to 20.6 this year, this equates to a whole grade improvement per entry for the whole cohort.
For students studying Applied General, which included BTEC Level 3 and OCR qualifications, the average point score has improved on last year’s results by 7 point. This sees an improvement from an average Pass grade to a Merit.
Almost two thirds of students have secured places at University in September – a considerable increase on last year.
These results indicate a continuing upward trend of sustainable improvement for Sixth Form qualifications at Ormiston NEW Academy. We are delighted for our Year 13 students and wish them well as the embark on their University courses.
