Student Voice

We received a huge number of inspiring applications from OAT students all around the UK hoping to join our first ever National Student Voice Council, and were incredibly impressed by all the hard work and commitment shown by everyone who entered. Following a tough selection process, we are thrilled to confirm that nine councillors have been chosen!

Congratulations to:

  • Alice Willcott from Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy
  • Ben Blagden from Broadland High Ormiston Academy
  • Harrison Mayhew-Kemp from Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy
  • Jacob Keeling from Ormiston Horizon Academy
  • Myo Zin Han from Cliff Park Ormiston Academy
  • Romeo Salau from Ormiston Park Academy
  • Scarlett Farnell from Wodensborough Ormiston Academy
  • Tyler May from Ormiston Rivers Academy
  • Zavannah Rollason from Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy

The National Student Voice Council will be a tool for the students of OAT academies to have their say on the issues that affect them, their schools and their communities. Their first task will be to implement a national OAT wide #iwill social action project for all OAT academies will take part in over the next academic year.

Well done everyone – we know you’ll do great things!

The amazing #will work taking place in our academies is the result of Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) securing £2 million of funding from the #iwill fund and national charity Ormiston Trust to help young people become involved in youth social action. For more on the #iwillfund click here.
