George Salter Academy (GSA) will be led by Rupi Bellingham as permanent Head of School who has been with the academy for seven years. Rupi has played a significant role in supporting the academy’s continued success and will be taking forward this experience and expertise to ensure George Salter Academy goes from strength to strength.
Peter Mckinniss will join Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy from an academy in London, where as Deputy Headteacher, he led on raising standards, behaviour for learning, curriculum and teaching and learning.
In taking on the position of Head of School, Peter is most looking forward to the opportunity to lead a thriving academy into the next phase of its development and ensure they are continuing to achieve exceptional outcomes for every student.
The academies will be supported by current Senior Principal, Adrian Price. Having overseen both academies for several years, Adrian will support the continued success of both schools and will work closely with both Peter and Rupi to ensure a smooth transition and support both academies to move forward with pace and purpose.
Peter Mckinniss, incoming Head of School at Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy, said: “I am thrilled to be leading such a wonderful academy through the next exciting stage of its journey. I was taken with Ormiston’s values, which fully align with my own and I was pleased to see these values very much in practice at OSCA.
“My core commitment as Head of School will be continuing to make academic success and aspiration an expectation at the academy by ensuring every child is being challenged to succeed to the best of their abilities.”
Adrian Price, Senior Principal at Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy and George Salter Academy, said: “I am delighted that Peter and Rupi will be leading Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy and George Salter Academy respectively as the new Head of Schools, and I am confident they will both do a fantastic job.
“I look forward to working closely with them both as Senior Principal and I am positive that with the full support of the senior leadership team and Ormiston we will continue to provide our students with every opportunity to thrive.”
