Student success celebrated at Ormiston Victory Academy

Ormiston Victory Academy students celebrate their A-level results

Students and staff at Lord Nelson Sixth Form College, part of Ormiston Victory Academy, are celebrating today after receiving their A-level results, enabling them to secure futures at their chosen universities, exciting apprenticeships and moving on to great job opportunities.

Lord Nelson Sixth Form College students have achieved some excellent results which reflect the hard work and commitment shown throughout their studies.

Notably, excellent outcomes occurred in A-level English literature, art, and business. In Applied General, special congratulations have gone out to those receiving their health and social care, sport, usiness and ICT qualifications.

Students across the academy performed well, with some of the individual standout achievements including:

  • Lana Mohamed achieved an A in art, B in sociology and C in psychology. She will be heading to the University of Brighton to study fine art. 
  • Lewis Lovelace obtained an A* in English literature, A in history and a B in psychology, in addition to completing an impressive Extended Project Qualification project. He will be studying psychology at the University of Bristol to study psychology, after also completing a very impressive EPQ.
  • Neo Barrun received an A in Art, Distinction* in creative media, and a Merit in computer science and will be heading to Royal Holloway University to study video games and design. Neo has also completed an amazing EPQ project alongside these studies, achieving an A grade.
  • Jamie Chaplin has worked incredibly hard in his studies, making excellent progress. He is set to study architecture at Norwich University of Arts, thanks to his B in art, Distinction in engineering and Merit in media. 
  • Max Barnes secured full time employment at Norwich Airport, starting the day after his last exam. He has also passed the first two parts of police entry.

The academy is also extremely pleased with the strong outcomes achieved by students in art, making the most of the academy’s new facilities.

We are extremely proud of what our students have achieved, and importantly the next steps that they have secured for themselves with these results.
